All of our herd sires and the herd sire prospects listed for sale are evaluated by genotyping to establish that they are not carriers of the key genetic defects that occur in the Hereford or Black Hereford breeds.  This is a requirement for a bull to be marketed as an ABHA Certified Herd Sire with the notation “Approved Herd Sire” presented on the Registry Certificate.

EXR FINAL PRINT 4255 ET “Barouch”

POLLED

We acquired this deep pigmented, goggle-eyed polled bull as the high selling Hereford bull in the Fall 2025 Express Ranches Bull sale. He truly exhibits a star-studded pedigree with some of the top Hereford sires in the business. On the topside, he is a son of RST FINAL PRINT 0016, himself a son of the well-known BOYD 31Z BLUEPRINT bull. On the bottom side, one will find great names such as LOEWEN GENESIS G16 ET, the famous NJW 79Z Z311 ENDURE 173D and CRR ABOUT TIME 743, to name a few. He sports WW, YW and MG EPDs in the top 2% of the breed with reasonable BW and CE characteristics. We have high hopes for this handsome herd sire. He is currently serving a select group of registered Angus females as part of our F-1 breed up program.

Nathan

Nathan

JACKS NEWT BG32 “Nathan”

HOMOZYGOUS BLACK & HETEROZYGOUS POLLED

Sourced from the Schroeder’s Black Hereford program from Southwestern Missouri, this handsome purebred homoblack bull is expected to excel. He has a nicely well balanced EPD profile and characteristic docility emblematic of the Black Hereford breed. He is out of the KACHING KH45 bull who continues to produce top quality herd sires for the Schroeder’s. We are currently using Nathan as a clean up bull as part of our black Hereford bred heifer program and he will also find his way into some of our early 5/8 – 3/8 BLACK BRAFORDs. We will keep you posted.

DKBH MAJIK ICE

HOMOZYGOUS BLACK, HOMOZYGOUS POLLED

This homoblack, homopolled purebred bull came out of the DK Ranch program as an experienced herd sire.  A SNS JM 1801 EL MAGO H006 son, he initially performed well in the show ring.  He is known to produce moderate birthweight calves and many of his heifer progeny are likely to be retained by the Wells Ranch up in Kansas. He is currently in use with selected experienced HB females at the JB-Bar W who will benefit from his EPD and genetic profile.

Jonah

MR 3J POLLED 14/3 “Jonah"

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED

This homozygous polled grey brahman herd sire will factor prominently in our BLACK BRAFORD breed up program. Acquired from the 3J Ranch of La Grange, TX this MR HMC POLLED 111/1 son sports some impressive EPD BW, WW and YW EPDs for a polled grey brahman bull. His pedigree contains a very nice mixture of names from the V8 Ranch, the La Muneca Cattle program and the SRS program, all from the great state of Texas. Currently he is working to produce ¾ blood brahman – ¼ blood black Hereford calves, some of which will be homo-polled, from our elite line of Golden Certified Black Hereford sired F-1s.

JBW GENESIS’S SILAS K02 (44347898)

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED HEREFORD

"Silas", one of our Legacy bulls, is out of a bred polled Hereford female we purchased in 2021 from Express Ranches of Yukon, OK.  His sire is Loewen Genesis G16 who needs no introduction.  He ranks in the top 2% for WW, YW and in the top 7% for Milk/Growth for the entire Hereford breed yet has produced reasonable birthweight calves.  Unfortunately, we lost Silas in January 2026.  Many of his progeny live on including bred heifers and yearling heifers that will be featured in future sales.

Abram - Legacy

Abram - Legacy

JO POWER PAK A1751 (HB 020419)

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED, HOMOZYGOUS BLACK

Another legacy bull is one we acquired from Johansen Black Herefords of Castle Dale, UT.  He is well structured with attractive pigment and is characteristically docile.  Nicknamed "Abram", this powerful high percentage homozygous polled, homozygous black bull was has produced some exceptional replacement heifers.  We lost Abram far too soon due to an injury impacting his breeding ability.  We retained semen on him for future use.

Isaiah - Legacy

Isaiah - Legacy

GZF MANHATTAN F04 (HB 012103)

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED

Our most prolific legacy bull,  "Isaiah", produced over 100 registered bulls and replacement heifers at the JB Bar-W ranch.  A docile yet powerful herd sire with a well balanced EPD profile including excellent calving ease.  Some of his open heifers have commanded top sales prices at the ABHA Southern Classic sale.  He was purchased from Ground Zero Farms as a calf at the side of an excellent GZF female and boasted a strong pedigree with the well-known Churchill Manhattan 428 ET Hereford bull as his sire within a truly star studed pedigree.  We retired Isaiah in late 2025 but will fondly remember him and have retained several of his female progeny.
