All of our herd sires and the herd sire prospects listed for sale are evaluated by genotyping to establish that they are not carriers of the key genetic defects that occur in the Hereford or Black Hereford breeds.  This is a requirement for a bull to be marketed as an ABHA Certified Herd Sire with the notation “Approved Herd Sire” presented on the Registry Certificate.

Our Herd Sires

Isaiah

GZF MANHATTAN F04 (HB 012103)

Isaiah

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED

Nicknamed Isaiah, this docile yet powerful herd sire remains in our breeding program to service selected registered females and to clean up commercial females after embryo transfers.  While he is approaching 6 years of age, he continues to produce outstanding calves and boasts a genetically enhanced Milk EPD in the top 5% of the breed.  He transfers strong maternal traits and some of his open heifers have commanded top sales prices at the ABHA Southern Classic sale.  He was purchased from Ground Zero Farms as a calf at the side of an excellent GZF female and boasts a strong pedigree with the well-known Churchill Manhattan 428 ET Hereford bull as his sire.

Abram

JO POWER PAK A1751 (HB 020419)

Abram

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED, HOMOZYGOUS BLACK

We acquired this beautiful bull from Johansen Black Herefords of Castle Dale, UT.  He is well structured with attractive pigment and is characteristically docile.  Nicknamed Abram, this powerful young bull was born a true twin and was grafted to a surrogate mother, which normally impacts growth.  Not him!...which was one of the reasons the Johansen’s thought hard about retaining him.  Thus far he has only produced six weaning age calves but they looks great with high AWW’s.  We have big plans for him in our program.

Silas

JBW GENESIS’S SILAS K02 (44347898)

Silas

HOMOZYGOUS POLLED HEREFORD

Our newest addition comes from one of the high-quality bred Hereford females we purchased in 2021 from Express Ranches of Yukon, OK.  His sire is Loewen Genesis G16 who is one of the most exciting homozygous polled Herefords in the industry.  Genesis boasts some of the highest growth EPDs in the Hereford breed, but with low birthweight!  Silas has the same characteristics as his sire with a powerful flank and nice eye pigmentation. He ranks in the top 6% for WW and in the top 2% for YW for the entire Hereford breed.  We expect several of his calves in late February – March 2024…stay tuned.
